Die Zapatistas in Augsburg

Anfang Oktober 2021 hat eine Delegation der Zapatistas Augsburg besucht. Drei ereignisreiche und doch sehr kurze Tage lang konnten wir uns mit den Frauen austauschen und uns von ihren Geschichten und ihren Kämpfen inspirieren lassen.
Die Zapatistas sind aufständische indigene Personen und Gemeinden im Süden Mexikos, die auf ihre Utopie einer Welt – frei von Patriarchat, Kolonialismus und Kapitalismus – tagtäglich selbstorganisiert und basis-demokratisch hinarbeiten und sie bereits heute umsetzen. Mit ihren Botschaften inspirieren sie seit den 90er-Jahren libertäre Bewegungen weltweit und geben Hoffnung, dass eine andere solidarische Welt möglich ist.
2021 hat sich eine zapatistische Delegation auf den Weg gemacht, um nach Europa zu reisen. Der erste Teil der Delegation kam mit dem Schiff am 22. Juni in Galizien an. 500 Jahre nach der Kolonialisierung Mexikos segelte also – wie damals – ein Schiff über den Atlantik. Dieses Mal jedoch in die andere Richtung und mit vollkommen anderem Ziel: um zu teilen, sich solidarisch zu verbinden, sich auszutauschen und voneinander zu lernen. Die “Gira por la vida – Reise für das Leben” der zapatistischen Delegation durch Europa hat sich zum Ziel gemacht, das Europa von “links-unten” kennenzulernen.
Der zweite Teil der Delegation landete im September in Wien. Von dort aus reisten sie weiter und besuchten – mal alle zusammen, mal in kleinere Gruppen aufgeteilt – verschiedenste Orte auf ihrer Tour durch Europa.

Die Reise für das Leben durch Augsburg
Im Frühjahr diesen Jahres haben wir auch in Augsburg angefangen, uns zu organisieren, um einen Besuch der zapatistischen Delegation möglich zu machen. Einige Organisations-, Vernetzungs- und Kommunikationsarbeit, eine Demo und eine Soliparty später war es dann soweit: Am 05. Oktober kamen sieben Frauen der zapatistischen Delegation in Augsburg an! Gemeinsam mit verschiedenen Gruppen und Kollektiven konnten wir ein buntes Programm aufstellen, welches unseren Besucherinnen einen Einblick ins Augsburg von links-unten ermöglichen sollte. Da war zum Beispiel der Drachenbau-Workshop, den das Grandhotel Cosmopolis kurz nach deren Gudiparan-Fest für die Zapatistas in einem Zirkuszelt am Siebentischwald abhielt, bei dem kunstvoll gestaltete und mit politischen Botschaften verzierte Drachen entstanden.
Dasselbe Zirkuszelt bot am Abend einen Ort für etwa 40 Personen verschiedenster Augsburger Gruppen, die zum Vernetzungstreffen der links-unten Gruppen gekommen waren.

Bei dieser Zusammenkunft nutzten auch die Zapatistas die Gelegenheit, ihre Geschichten zu teilen und sprachen über die Anfänge ihrer Selbstorganisation, bewaffneten Kampf und den Übergang zu einer basisdemokratischen Gesellschaft und die Auflösung patriarchaler Strukturen in dieser Gesellschaft. Die sieben Frauen unterschiedlicher Generationen sprachen über sich, über ihre Vorfahren und über ihre Nachkommen, bis es trotz des leckeren warmen Essens der Soliküche zu kalt und zu spät wurde.
Am nächsten Tag ging es weiter mit einem FLINTA-Austausch im Frauenzentrum Augsburg. Nach dem anschließenden Besuch und Mittagessen bei Tür an Tür führte postcolonial.realities uns zu einem postkolonialen Stadtrundgang durch Augsburg.

Und danach konnten wir unseren zapatistischen Freundinnen das Klimacamp neben dem Rathaus zeigen, von dem sie sich begeistert und inspiriert zeigten. Nach einem schönen Konzert von 4. Mahnung kamen wir wieder zusammen, um den Zapatistas bei der Fortsetzung ihrer Geschichten vom Vorabend zu lauschen. Sie erzählten von der praktischen Umsetzung der Selbstorganisation und davon, wie sie ihre basisdemokratische „gute Regierung“ aufgebaut haben und auch über Fragen und Fehler, die ihnen auf ihrem Weg begegnet sind. Die anschließende Fragerunde war geprägt von gegenseitigem Respekt und Inspiration.

Der 07. Oktober war bereits der letzte Tag des Besuchs. Die Solawi Augsburg (Solidarische Landwirtschaft), welche maßgeblich von der zapatistischen Idee geprägt ist, begrüßte die Zapatistas sehr herzlich und zeigte ihnen die Gemüseverteilung am Vormittag vor der Gemüseausgabe, bevor sie sich mittags auf den Weg zu ihrer nächsten Station machten.

Otro Augsburg es posible – Ein anderes Augsburg ist möglich

Der Besuch der Zapatista-Delegation und deren Bericht ihrer gelebten Utopie einer solidarischen Gesellschaft hat Hoffnung gemacht, welche im oftmals vereinzelten und individualistischen Aktivismus in Augsburg manchmal fehlt. Aber die Umsetzung einer gelebten Utopie findet auch hier und heute in Augsburg bereits statt – das haben die Stationen der Reise für das Leben in Augsburg gezeigt. Ein anderes Augsburg ist möglich!
Dieser Besuch wäre ohne die Unterstützung zahlreicher Gruppen und Kollektive in Augsburg nicht möglich gewesen.

“Por un mundo donde quepan muchos mundos – For a world where many worlds fit” The Zapatistas in Augsburg.
At the beginning of October, a delegation of the Zapatistas visited Augsburg. For three eventful, yet very short days, we were able to share with the women and be inspired by their stories and their struggles.
The Zapatistas are rebellious indigenous people and communities in southern Mexico who work towards their utopia of a world free of patriarchy, colonialism and capitalism on a daily basis in a self-organized and basic democratic way and are already putting it into practice today. With their messages, they have inspired libertarian movements worldwide since the 1990s and given hope that another world of solidarity is possible.
In 2021, a Zapatista delegation set out to travel to Europe.
The first part of the delegation arrived by ship in Galicia on June 22. So, 500 years after the colonization of Mexico, a ship sailed across the Atlantic, as it did then. This time, however, in the other direction and with a completely different goal: to share, to connect in solidarity, to exchange and to learn from each other.
The “Gira por la vida – Journey for Life” of the Zapatista delegation through Europe has the goal to get to know Europe from the “left-bottom“.
The second part of the delegation landed in Vienna in September. From there they traveled on and visited – sometimes all together, sometimes divided into smaller groups – different places on their tour through Europe.

The Journey for Life through Augsburg
In spring this year, we also began organizing in Augsburg to make a visit by the Zapatista delegation possible. Some organizing, networking and communication work, a demo and a solidarity party later, the time had come: On October 5th, seven women of the Zapatista delegation arrived in Augsburg!
Together with different groups and collectives, we were able to put together a diverse program, which should give our guests an insight into Augsburg from the left-bottom.
For example, there was the kite-making workshop that the Grandhotel Cosmopolis held for the Zapatistas in a circus tent at the Siebentischwald shortly after their Gudiparan festival, where artistically designed kites decorated with political messages were created.
The same circus tent provided a venue in the evening for about 40 people from a wide variety of Augsburg groups who had come to the networking meeting of the left-bottom.
At this gathering, the Zapatistas also took the opportunity to share their stories and spoke about the beginnings of their self-organization, armed struggle, and transition to a grassroots democratic society and the dissolution of patriarchal structures in that society. The seven women of different generations talked about themselves, about their ancestors and about their descendants until it became too cold and too late, despite the delicious hot food provided by the solidarity kitchen.
The next day continued with a women’s exchange at the Augsburg Frauenzentrum. After the subsequent visit and lunch at Tür an Tür, postcolonial.realities led us on a postcolonial city tour of Augsburg.
And after that we could show our visitors the climate camp next to the city hall, of which they were enthusiastic and inspired.
After a beautiful concert by 4. Mahnung, we gathered again to listen to the Zapatistas continue their stories from the night before. They talked about the practicalities of self-organization and how they built their grassroots “good government,” as well as questions and mistakes they have encountered along the way. The Q&A session that followed was characterized by mutual respect and inspiration.
October 07 was already the last day of the visit. The Solawi Augsburg (Community Supported Agriculture), which is significantly influenced by the Zapatista idea, welcomed the Zapatistas very warmly and showed them the vegetable distribution in the morning before they left for their next stop at noon.

Otro Augsburg es posible – Another Augsburg is possible
The visit of the Zapatista delegation and their report of their lived utopia of a solidary society gave hope, which is sometimes missing in the often isolated and individualistic activism in Augsburg. But the realization of a lived utopia is already taking place here and now in Augsburg – the stations of the Journey for Life in Augsburg have shown that. Another Augsburg is possible!
This visit would not have been possible without the support of numerous groups and collectives in Augsburg.

“Por un mundo donde quepan muchos mundos” – Lxs zapatistas en Augsburgo.
A principios de octubre, una delegación de zapatistas visitó Augsburgo. Durante tres días llenos de acontecimientos, aunque muy cortos, pudimos compartir con las mujeres e inspirarnos por sus historias y sus luchas.
Lxs zapatistas son pueblos y comunidades indígenas rebeldes del sur de México que trabajan a diario por la construcción de su utopía por un mundo libre de patriarcado, colonialismo y capitalismo de una manera practica autoorganizada y democrática básica. Con sus mensajes, han inspirado movimientos libertarios en todo el mundo desde la década de 1990 y han dado esperanzas de que otro mundo de solidaridad sea posible.
En 2021, una delegación zapatista se dispuso a viajar a Europa.
La primera parte de la delegación llegó en barco a Galicia el 22 de junio. Entonces, 500 años después de la colonización de México, un barco cruzó el Atlántico, como entonces. Esta vez, sin embargo, en la otra dirección y con un objetivo completamente diferente: compartir, conectar solidariamente, intercambiar y aprender unxs de otrxs.
La “Gira por la vida – Viaje por la vida” de la delegación zapatista por Europa tiene como objetivo conocer Europa desde el “fondo de los movimientos sociales de izquierda”.
La segunda parte de la delegación aterrizó en Viena en septiembre. Desde allí viajaron y visitaron, a veces todxs juntxs, a veces divididxs en grupos más pequeños, diferentes lugares en su gira por Europa.

El viaje por la vida a través de Augsburgo
En la primavera de este año, también comenzamos a organizarnos en Augsburgo para hacer posible la visita de la delegación zapatista. Un trabajo de intensa organización y trabajo en red, una manifestación y una fiesta solidaria después, para posibilitar el gran encuentro: ¡El 5 de octubre, siete mujeres de la delegación zapatista llegaron a Augsburgo!
Junto con diferentes grupos y colectivos, pudimos armar un programa colorido, que debería brindarles a nuestras huéspedes una visión de Augsburgo desde la izquierda-abajo.
Por ejemplo, habia el taller de fabricación de cometas que el Grandhotel Cosmopolis llevó a cabo para las zapatistas en una carpa de circo en el Siebentischwald poco después de su festival de Gudiparan, donde se crearon cometas de diseño artístico decoradas con mensajes políticos.
La misma carpa de circo proporcionó un lugar por la noche para unas 40 personas de una amplia variedad de grupos de Augsburgo que habían asistido a la reunión de trabajo en red de la parte inferior izquierda.
En este encuentro, las zapatistas también aprovecharon para compartir sus historias y hablar sobre los inicios de su autoorganización, la lucha armada y la transición a una sociedad democrática de base y la disolución de las estructuras patriarcales en esa sociedad. Las siete mujeres de distintas generaciones hablaron de sí mismas, de sus antepasadxs y de sus descendientes hasta que hizo demasiado frío y fue demasiado tarde, a pesar de la deliciosa comida caliente que brindaba la cocina solidaria.
El día siguiente continuó con un intercambio de mujeres en el Frauenzentrum Augsburg. Después de la visita y el almuerzo posteriores en Tür an Tür, postcolonial.realities nos llevaron a un recorrido por la ciudad poscolonial de Augsburgo.
Y después de eso pudimos mostrar a nuestras visitantes el Klimacamp (campamento climático) junto al ayuntamiento, del cual se sintieron entusiasmadas e inspiradas. Luego de un hermoso concierto a cargo de 4 Mahnung, nos reunimos nuevamente para escuchar a las zapatistas continuar sus historias de la noche anterior. Hablaron sobre los aspectos prácticos de la autoorganización y cómo construyeron su “buen gobierno” de base, así como sobre las preguntas y los errores que han encontrado en el camino. La sesión de preguntas y respuestas que siguió se caracterizó por el respeto mutuo y la inspiración.
El 7 de octubre fue el último día de la visita. La Solawi Augsburg (Agricultura Apoyada por la Comunidad), que está significativamente influenciada por la idea zapatista, recibió muy calurosamente a las zapatistas y les mostró la distribución de verduras en la mañana antes de partir para su próxima parada al mediodía. x
Otro Augsburg es posible
La visita de la delegación zapatista y su relato de la utopía vivida de una sociedad solidaria dieron esperanza, que a veces falta en el activismo muchas veces aislado e individualista de Augsburgo. Pero la realización de una utopía vivida ya se está produciendo aquí y ahora en Augsburgo; las estaciones del Viaje por la Vida en Augsburgo lo han demostrado. ¡Otro Augsburgo es posible!
